Basic Buying
Course Description
This course is meant to accompany the “Basics of eBay” course that covers many features of eBay that are important to both buyers and sellers. You should review the basics course to provide useful background, but it is not strictly necessary as we will briefly touch on some of the same topics here. The purpose of this course is to give you an overview of:
- How to sign up for an eBay buyer's account
- How to find listings for items that you're interested in buying
- How to evaluate listings to determine whether they're worth bidding on
- How to pay the seller and ensure that you receive your item correctly
- How to avoid fraud and initiate dispute resolution in the event that something goes wrong anyway.
How Much Profit can You Expect to Earn on Ebay?
- I sold microscopes for $300-$500 each, bought for $10 (30 to 50 to 1 profit margin)
- Printer cartridges: bought for $1 each sold for $25 each times 1,000 cartridges! (2400% return) – I took one retailer’s entire stock of new but stale-dated printer cartridges at $1 each…I advertised them as stale-dated and sold them for up to $24.95 US.
- We recently picked up 2 pallets of computer systems and our average cost was $1.50 per computer system!
